Obituary of John Geba
Mr. John Geba a long time resident of Glen Spey died Monday, November 6, 2017 with his family by his side. He was 90 years old.
He was born September 17, 1927 in Cherche, Ukraine the son of the late Gregory Geba and the late Anna Hladun Geba and immigrated to America in 1949. His studies in Ukraine and Germany were in Engineering. He was the plant production manager of the S.S. White division of Pennwalt Corporation based on Staten Island, NY until he moved to Glen Spey in 1971 to purchase the Port Jervis Bakery, where he was the co-owner until it’s sale in 1986. He was also a retired co-owner of Geba Realty Associates, a member of The National Association of Realtors, The New York Association of Realtors and the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors. He was a member of the Ukrainian Congress Committee and the Ukrainian National Association. John was a member of the Lumberland Lions Club and was an avid bowler on a league team at PJ Bowl. John was an active member of St. Volodymyr’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Glen Spey where he was a vibrant supporter and served as a trustee for over 20 years.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth C. Geba on September 16, 1998.

5 Grandchildren: Adriana and her husband Marcel, Maria, Sonia, Eugene and John.
Sister-in-law: Maria Geba
Also several nieces and nephews including Alexandra, Katherine, Bohdan and Lyubov.
He was predeceased by his brother, Bohdan Geba and his sisters, Daria Geba & Lydia Geba
Visitation will be at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm with a Panachyda service at 6:00pm at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, November 11th from 10:00am -12:00pm at the funeral home before the mass.
A Liturgy Mass will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at St. Volodymyr’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2104 County Route 41, Glen Spey, NY 12737 with Rev. Yaroslav Kostyk officiating.
Burial will be at Glen Spey Cemetery, Glen Spey, NY next to his beloved wife Elizabeth.
