Mr. Louis Harford of Port Jervis, NY died Monday, July 19, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was 90.
He was born February 26, 1931 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late William Harford and the late Mamie Hapersburger Harford.
Louis proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a Custodian for Minisink Valley Central School.
Louis was a member of the Port Jervis and Minisink bowling leagues for many years. He was an avid bowler and played the game so well that his name remains in the Middletown Bowling Associations Hall of Fame for the many games in which he scored a perfect 300. Louis also won a game against a professional bowler and received $1000.00 dollars for his win. Louis was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Port Jervis, NY and attended regularly for the last 30 years.
A family statement read: Lou was the kindest man you had ever met, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, be it family or friend, even when he could only help in small ways. Lou loved heading to the golf course with his brothers and nephew Chris Conklin. He truly loved getting the numbers together for the Lotto, always ready to figure out the best numbers to play, even though he may forget to play them that week. Lou, you touched so many people’s lives throughout the years, helping us, teaching us to bowl, or just simply being there, you will truly be missed.

And several loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Louis is predeceased by his four brothers: Harold, Charles, Richard, and Douglas Harford.
Visitation will be held at the gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 E Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, July 23, 2021.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Cremation will be held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA.
A burial of ashes will take place in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrow Bush, NY on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 1:00pm with Rev. Dennis Dinan officiating.
