Marianne Mayfield

Mrs. Marianne Mayfield

Port Jervis, NY

Mrs. Marianne Mayfield of Port Jervis, NY died Monday, August 23, 2021 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  She was 59.

She was born December 27, 1961 in Bronx, NY the daughter of the late Anton Deni and Louise A. Morghesi Deni.

Marianne was the owner and operator of Cafe Roxanna in Port Jervis, NY for many years.

A family statement read: Marianne was first a proud Mother, Wife, Daughter and later Grandmother who centered her life’s arc on improving the well-being of her family. She was also a retired restauranteur and truly enjoyed getting to know the people of Port Jervis through her work at Café Roxanna, where she was an owner operator, at first in partnership with Roxanna Schierman and later as a sole proprietor. She had a true love for the Arts and hosted different local artists each month including an open reception with the artist to showcase their work. Her home is graced to this day with original works by the local artists that were once featured at the Café. Her work with the Arts community led to her receiving the Port Jervis Council for the Arts Business Recognition Award in 2009 for her support of the Tri-state area Arts community. Marianne faced every challenge, including her last, with grace and dignity always looking toward what she could do for her family and friends.

Marianne’s beloved family and dear friends, near and far, were the driving force and guiding light in her life. She was known to drop everything and fly across the country to support a friend, to provide strength when others were experiencing pain, to provide assistance and a supportive ear to her sister, nieces, aunts, uncles, and other loved ones. She loved her parents very much and was always there for them day or night. Her husband Michael was the love of her life and she was proud of the life they built together. The job she loved most was being a mother to her two daughters. Marianne loved her daughters fiercely and made it her life’s mission to love and provide them with the tools they needed to build the best life possible. Most recently, the absolute light of her life was her two grandchildren. She cherished spending quality time with them and showering them with love and affection. Marianne had a profound impact on everyone in her life and she will be missed dearly.
