Obituary of Ann Iannelli
Mrs. Ann M. Iannelli
Port Jervis, NY
Formerly of College Point, NY
Mrs. Ann M. Iannelli of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Joseph's Place. She was 100.
She was born April 22, 1917 in College Point, NY the daughter of the late John and the late Maria Zaino Pastorelli.
Ann spent the first 95 years in College Point, NY before moving to Port Jervis to be closer to her family. She loved to talk about the changing world. You could say she was a feminist before her time, working in a factory at 17 then working as an Executive Secretary in Manhattan for a company called Squib. She enjoyed her many years working in Manhattan. She did a lot of traveling alone, which women in that day, did not do. Ann even traveled to Cuba before Castro. She married her beloved husband, Silvio Iannelli in 1953 and was married 52 years until his passing in 2004. Unusual for the time, she married at 35 and had one child, which did not stop her from still having a career. She felt lucky that she could have it all. She is grateful that women have the choices and opportunities she never had or even dreamed of. She was glad to see the changes in history for the positive and to be a part of the industrial revolution.
Ann was also involved in many organizations where she volunteered her time and energy. She worked until she was 70, at St. Agnes High School in College Point as an Executive Secretary. She was still a current member for 81 years of the Columbiettes in College Point. She was also a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Port Jervis.
Her loving daughter Donna Williams and her husband Frank of Milford, PA
Grandchildren: Lora Moscatiello and her husband Kevin, Michael Kane and his wife Jenna, Christopher and Jason Williams.
Great Grandchildren: Avery and Sydney Moscatiello, Jackson Kane and Jake Williams.
Her sister, Frances Bisaha of California
She was predeceased by her sister, Florance Zaino and her brothers Richard and James Pastorelli.
