Obituary of Charles Innella
Mr. Charles A. Innella of Port Jervis, NY died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Joseph's Place in Port Jervis. He was 86.
He was born October 13, 1931 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Robert Innella and the late Blanche Drake Innella. Charles married Lorraine Seibel on April 24, 1954 in St. Leonard's RC Church in Brooklyn, NY and they were married for 62 years prior to her death on August 31, 2016.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Charles was a Supervisor for Orange and Rockland Utilities, Middletown.
He was a past member of the Roosa Fleming VFW Post #161, Port Jervis and the American Legion Post #132, Franklin, NJ. The Port Jervis Elk's Lodge No. 645 and the Port Jervis Country Club where he was an avid golfer.
A family statement read: "He loved all animals especially his dogs. He would feed the birds and the squirrels all around where ever he was living."
Surviving are his two daughters: Terri VanTassel and her husband, Jerry of Franklin, NJ and Karen VanHorn and her husband, Roger of Port Jervis, NY; his two sons: Chuck Innella and his wife, Laura of Shohola, PA and Bruce Innella and his wife, Sherry of Glen Spey, NY; brother-in-law: Bruce Seibel and his wife, Carol of Syosset, NY; 13 grandchildren: Sabrina Llewellyn, Sherry VanTassel, Samantha VanHorn, Roger VanHorn Jr., Chris Snyder, Sabrina Potter, Julie Innella, Katie Innella, Emma Innella, Brooke Innella, Lindsay Innella and Lauren Innella and Kiel VanHorn; eight great-grandchildren: Mayson, Brytan, Kayden, Havani Lorraine, Johnny, Caitlin, Cole and Lance; and also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Robert, Bernard and Vince Innella; and one sister: Helen Innella. He is survived by his beloved dog, Mister Innella and was predeceased by his beloved dog, Missy.
There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private.
