Obituary of Beverly P. Cordisco
Beverly P. ‘Buffy’ Cordisco of Port Jervis, NY passed away on May 22, 2018. She was 74 years old.
Born on July 7, 1943 in Port Jervis, NY, Buffy was the daughter of the late Stephen Pedlock and Lucy Krause Pedlock. When she was a toddler she could not pronounce her own name. She could only say “Buffy.” Those who knew and loved her would not be surprised to learn she chose her own lifelong nickname.
Buffy met her husband Richard Cordisco in high school. They married in 1962. Together they owned and ran Trico Appliances in Port Jervis since June 1970 when they bought the business from Buffy’s uncle, Nick Gallondorn. Buffy often claimed she was not a people person, but she chatted with her customers, and many became lifelong friends. Buffy took great pride in Trico, and devoted her life to the business and to her family.
She was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis, and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Madonna #114, Port Jervis.
Buffy is survived by her husband Richard; her son Dominic Cordisco, Esq., his wife Amy and her grandson Rocco of Cornwall on Hudson, NY; her sister Christine Onofry and her husband, Craig, Ed.D of Bluffton, SC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
