Obituary of Joseph Nowak

Mr. Joseph Nowak of Huguenot, NY and formerly of Slate Hill, NY died Monday, June 11, 2018 at Milford Senior Care & Rehabilitation Center.  He was 80.

He was born December 29, 1937 in Johnson, NY the son of the late Vincent Nowakowski and the late Frances  Buccek Nowakowski.

Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the Army Corps of Engineers division.

He married Agnes Schoonmaker 56 years ago on December 27, 1961 in theTown of Wawayanda.

Joseph worked for the Town of Wawayanda 36 ½ years and for 26 ½ years as the Town of Wawayanda Highway Superintendant.

He was a member of the Slate Hill Fire Dept., Slate Hill, NY; the Orange County Highway Superintendant's Assoc. and the Wawayanda Democratic Committee. 

A family statement read:  Dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who loved to hunt and fish.  Growing up on a Dairy Farm in South Centerville, farming was in his blood and up until a year ago he was helping his brother on the farm.

2 predeceased sisters : Frances Nowak & Rose Nowak

Predeceased brother: Walter Nowak

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 E. Main St.,  Port Jervis on Saturday, June 16, 2018 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM, , 

Funeral services will be held at Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis. 

Burial will be at Ridgebury Cemetery, 33 Ridgebury Hill Road, Slate Hill, NY 10973.
