Eugenia “Genia” Szeremeta, 85, of Hillsborough, New Jersey died peacefully on October 11, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Place in Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. Born October 22, in Znosicze, Poland to Andrew and Olga Podlsesny. Eugenia was married to her loving husband Jan for 46 years, who died in 1999.
Eugenia was an active member of the Polish Falcons of America, and a devoted volunteer at St. Casimir’s and Sacred Heart churches. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed baking and gardening. Genia worked as a Logistics Coordinator for the United States Parcel Service in Bound Brook, NJ.
Survivors include her two children Barbara Kilbride of Slate Hill, her partner Dick McKeeby
and Wanda Szeremeta of Los Angeles, CA; Granddaughters, Kristine Kaufman and husband Keith Kaufman of Hillsborough, NJ and Jamie Borch of North Scituate, RI; Great Grandchildren, Kevin and Carson Kaufman, Julia and Cody Borch;
Sisters, Irena Gadomski, Janina Lazurko and Ida Godefroy all residing in Canada and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Teresa Szeremeta and sister, Mary Stechly.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held privately at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
