Obituary of Sharon Irwin

Mrs. Sharon Aileen Tice Irwin of Huguenot, NY and a former longtime resident of Spring Glen, NY died Monday, July 1, 2019 at Orange Regional Medical Center.  She was 76.

She was born April 10, 1943 in Newburgh, NY the daughter of the late Ward W. Tice, Sr. and the late Dorothy Aileen McMurtrie Tice.

Sharon married Ronald LeRoy Irwin on October 3, 1964 at the Walden Methodist Church in Walden, NY.  They were happily married for 53 years prior to Ronald’s death on December 5, 2017.

She worked as a Nurses’ Aide for the Ellenville Central School District, Ellenville, NY.

Sharon was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Ellenville, NY.

A family statement read:  Sharon loved her family and was fondly known as the “Cookie Lady.”  She loved to cook for her family and friends.  There were many favorites by her children and grandchildren.  She had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a hand.  Sharon loved to crochet and kept everyone warm and fed with her homemade dinners.  She was devoted to her family, friends and pets.

Surviving are:

2 sons:  Daniel Ward Irwin and his companion Patricia Thomas of Cleveland, TN and James Russell Irwin and his wife Tricia of Huguenot, NY; Brother:  Ward W. Tice, Jr. and his wife Lorna of Walden, NY; Brother-in-law: Albert Irwin, Jr. of New Windsor, NY; Sister-in-law: Beverly Stuhmer and her husband Raymond of Montgomery, NY; 10 grandchildren: Shannon Plaza & her husband Joe, Victoria Irwin, Justin Irwin, Christopher Irwin, Erica Martzen, Anthony Irwin, Rosamaria Irwin, Adrianna Irwin, Emily Gardner & Zachary Irwin and 1 great granddaughter, Auria.  Also several nieces and nephews and a close friend who is like a son: Charles Wallack and his wife Jody of Spring Glen, NY

Sharon was predeceased by her son, Heath Ward Irwin and her brother-in-law: Richard D. Irwin

There will be no visitation and funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
