Obituary of Robert W. Schultz
Robert (Rob) William Schultz, a lifelong resident of Port Jervis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2020. Born on January 29, 1952, he was the son of the late Daniel P. Schultz, MD and the late Augusta "Gussie" Mary McKean Schultz.
Rob was a graduate of Syracuse University and a Certified Public Accountant with his own firm, Robert W. Schultz, CPA, in Port Jervis.
He was a dedicated member of the Port Jervis community, volunteering his time with many organizations. Rob served as President of the Minisink Valley Historical Society, Chairman of the City of Port Jervis Industrial Development Agency, Treasurer of the Orange County Historical Society, and member of the Port Jervis Republican Committee. He was past President and Treasurer of the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce, past treasurer of the Port Jervis Rotary Club, and past member of the Drew United Methodist Church.
Rob leaves behind his wife, Linda Hannigan, of Port Jervis, daughters Olivia Ross (Raymond) of Audubon, PA, and Adrienne Williamson (John) of Gilbertsville, PA, and step-son, Gregory Jones (Dara Creed), of Port Ewan, NY. His son, Daniel Robert Schultz, predeceased him.
Brothers & Sister: Ronald P. Schultz, DDS (Colette) of Mt. Hope, NY, Jane S. Schultz of Concord NC, Randal M. Schultz, CPA (Lynda) of Newtown Square, PA, Richard D. Schultz, MD (Linda) of Hickory, NC.
Grandchildren: Daniel, Joshua, and Nathan Ross, Wes and Owen Williamson, Garret Creed.
Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: James and Helen Hannigan of Stony Point, NY. Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Donna Bernstein (Lex) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Karen Klein (Ted) of Wilmington, DE, James Hannigan (Sandra Wong) of Lyons, CO, Amy Hannigan (Dennis Dembeck) of Chester, NY, Tina Hannigan (Steve Saucier) of Monroe, NY, and Bonnie Edson (Lars) of Jonesborough, TN.
A family statement read:
Rob had a large and close-knit family. He loved nothing more than being with his wife, siblings, children and grandchildren, whether it was family gatherings or group vacations. A favorite activity was camping with his grandsons and watching them enjoy the outdoors. He was keenly interested in American history and enjoyed visiting historical sites and traveling across America in his RV.
Funeral services will be private, with burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Jervis with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
