Obituary of Joan A. Waldron
Joan Anne Waldron died March 25, 2021 in Sparrowbush, NY. She was born in New York on July 12, 1946 to Dick and Evanne Waldron, and was the oldest of 5 children. She was preceded in death by her beloved fiancé, Rob O’Brien, her parents, brother John Waldron, aunts Dr. Joan Brady, Sr. Gertrude Brady, R.S.C.J., Sr. Cora Brady, R.S.C.J., Mary Brady O’Brien (Robert), and uncles George Waldron (Evelyn), Vincent Waldron (Helen), Brother Bob Waldron C.F.X., and Joe Brady (Roberta). She is survived by her brothers Rich (Cynthia), Kevin (Jeanne), and Jim (Phyllis) Waldron, nieces and nephews Alexandra, Phillip, Raena, Marisa and Greg.
Joan and her family moved to Philadelphia around 1950 where she attended St. Luke’s and Immaculate Conception parochial schools and Bishop McDevitt High School. She then attended the University of Toronto, and graduated from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. She lived and worked in Middletown, NY for many years, before moving to her late Aunt Mary’s family home in Sparrowbush. Later in life, she became and RN, earning a degree in what she did best, taking care of others. Joan was an animal lover, especially her cats. She was an avid and gifted photographer, loved knitting and cooking and was a voracious reader. She loved to travel and visited Japan, Jamaica, Aruba, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Arizona and points in between. No services are planned.
