Mr. Robert Lee Swart, Sr.

Port Jervis, NY


Mr. Robert Lee Swart, Sr. of Port Jervis, NY died Friday, May 14, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinsons at St. Joseph’s Place in Bon Secours Community Hospital.  He was 79.

He was born August 26, 1941 in Howes Cave, NY, one of the five children of the late Wendell Swart and the late Irene Bowers Swart.

Robert was married to Joan Soderblom in Cobleskill, NY on June 21, 1958.

Robert joined the United States Airforce in 1958, he was stationed in Limestone, Maine and proudly served his country until 1962.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood Teamsters Union, Local 550 of New York.

Robert worked as a Route Salesman for Drake’s Bakery for 26 years before heading over to work in the warehouse of Kolmar Laboratories for 8 years.

A family statement read: Bob was a loving father and husband. A true family man, he was always there for his wife and children. Bob was an avid Nascar fan, one of his favorite past times was watching Kevin Harvick circle the track racing past the other drivers. It was not just Nascar he knew, Bob could recall every car he had ever owned from 1958 to 2020. He never forgot a make or model. Those who knew Bob recall him always being a very kind and gentle person. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Daughter:        Robin Little and her husband Wayne of Port Jervis, NY

Son:                 Robert Swart, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Middletown, NY

Four grandchildren Travis Clarke, Morgan Clarke, Brandon Swart, Jennifer Swart

and his great granddaughter Khyleigh Clarke


There will be no visitation.


Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.


Cremation was held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA.


Robert’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Place at Bon Secours Community Hospital for their excellent care during Robert’s time of need.
